The UC goes online!

This is not new to anyone who knows me, but it is news to most. Now, not only is the LA Times covering the amazing strides done by the UC in the direction of online education, but it covered it fairly well.  A Xmas miracle indeed (the story went up on Xmas eve…).

Is the tide turning? Are people seeing beyond the MOOC haze? Are people ready to talk about the democratic potential of an educational transformation that makes quality instruction accessible to more students and that better reflects the constraints most students (and educational systems) have to contend with?

This is all good news for the last week of 2013. Onwards to 2014!!!

(by the way – 2014 will see my History of Latin America class go online again, and this time also go cross-campus)
